· Where is Indonesia?
If you have a world map, so you
can see Indonesia is a very
beautiful archipelago in South East Asia. It’s
like a chain of islands that lies from Sabang in the West to Merauke in the
East, from Miangas Island in the North to Rote Island
in the South. Geographically, it’s located between two continents: Asia (upper)
and Australia (below) and
surrounding by oceans (Hindi Ocean and Pacific Ocean).
Indonesia is a tropical
country with fantastic nature and culture, where the equator line crossed Pontianak
a capital city of West Kalimantan.
· What about population?
Indonesia is
densely populated country. Today, the population is near 250 million people
that spread out in thousands of islands from 34 provinces all over the country.
Generally each island has different tribe and different life style. Therefore
there are many ethnic groups in Indonesia.
You can imagine that any ethnic group own their different culture in tradition,
language, dress, dance, music, songs, culinary and way of life. It means that
there are many differences live in Indonesia. But we have motto Unity
in Diversity which uniting our people in one nation with Bahasa Indonesia as
formal language.

What
about tourist destination?
Indonesia
have many historical remains from the past that become tourism attracted, you
can find temples, palaces, fortress, mosque, church, monument and museum
almost in every islands. As nature in heritage, Indonesia also rich in rivers and
tributary, there are many lakes, beaches, variety of flora and fauna, forests
and even volcanoes. Besides, Indonesia
is an agricultural country. It’s a land of small farmers. If you go traveling
around Indonesia,
you will see rice fields as a wonderful natural landscape everywhere from
island to island.

Why
should you speak Bahasa Indonesia?
If you have a plan to trip to Indonesia and
you want to traveling around, it will be better if learn bahasa Indonesia a
little bit (if you don’t want more), so you can speak with people wherever you
meet. Instead of their local language, most of Indonesian speaks Bahasa
Indonesia. In the capital city like Jakarta
or other big ones is not difficult for you to meet speaking English people. But
if you travel farther from the city – unfortunately beautiful places usually
not in a city, I suggest you to speak Bahasa Indonesia. Why? Because when you have difficulty to find
places or whatever, you will easy to get assistance. Indonesian people are
friendly, helpful, polite and welcome. So, if you want to get to know more
about Indonesia
hospitality and its smiling people, Let’ Speak Bahasa Indonesia. I will tell
you the basic, easy daily conversation and some other words. But don’t forget,
